Travel tips

Recently wonderful guys from RelayRides asked me to write about my travels. I do love traveling and for me it's amazing to travel no matter where (so prepare for a huge post). I was very happy to share my thoughts about it as actually due to changes in my life for now we are not traveling as often and big as we did before.
Each travel starts with packing a bag. Each bag should work. Also a good bag or a backpack works the best if you empty it and carry along during the walk having some necessary extra stuff with you.
I'm a fan of light travels. Usually my hubby and I wear a simple backpack where we put everything we need. Two weeks trip to NY and Costa Rica was made with two backpacks (each qualified for worst condition hand luggage size) and a camera bag. I usually work my closet to vary the most with least of clothes. But there are some essential things I take always like at least on sweater even if it's summer because nobody knows may be we end up somewhere in cooler part like mountains of would have a long walk late in the night). And you can never be sure about the weather: e.g. in 2013 in late May Max and I were in Italy. During the planning we check the forecasts and took swimsuits instead we were running across the Milano looking for an extra sweater. Or in 2014 in Sweden we couldn't sky because there accidentally were no snow ( we couldn't avoid it as there still was a chance slopes would reopen next day which didn't happen).
The basic tip about short travels - plan you outfits before the trip if you don't want to end up with a pack of stuff you can't normally mix. Not sure about the mood - accessory would definitely help.
Now lets imagine we are going for a weekend trip right now:
2 bright light sweaters (one would probably on for the airport), one of them would also work with blouse or shirt under
2 undertows (probably a tank top)
a shirt
extra pants (even for a weekend extra pants are necessary - you can't guarantee you would fall, get a stain eating or else. Tip - if you don't have enough space  better throw your extra sweater or top off but never pants). Plus they make a great add to outfits. I don't recommend skirts at all as I usually walk a lot and want to be sure I'm not showing my panties if I saw something interesting and want to see it closer or accidentally decide to go off road.
boots (fine boots, ones you are completely confident with. Tip - new shoes are always a bad idea for travels)
3 pairs of socks + one extra which carry along during the walk
things you need for hygiene like toothbrushes each in travel size, don't forget medicine you need or may need (like I always even during the winter take my allergic pills even though I'm allergic to blooming. Tip (!) if you have some food allergy and you may be out of big touristic places make sure you have a list of things you are allergic to in native language; I'm allergic to honey and this tip saved me million times).
Documents. Tip check million times before leaving. It's also good to have a travel document case.
Travel size make up kit - for example I have Dior make up kit, which actually gives me everything I need for basic make up)
Tablet pc (phone can discharge if you have more important calls you planned and it's easier to check maps on it, plus you can carry along come movies you may want to watch before going to sleep with your companion which is always impossible with a phone, even the lightest laptop could never work fine on street and it's heavier).
Accessories. Usually rings, necklaces, earrings and bracelets doesn't need much space or weight too much. Take more than you need because good accessory can make your outfit sparkle and make you feel different in a flash. I also take at least two hats (seasons doesn't matter). My hubs' and my hat sizes are almost the same so we share the hat collection. One on me and other on him - no actual extra luggage but a great add to any outfit. Plus it works good if it happens to rain and you need time to pull you umbrella  out of bag.
You can also add some fine and small add of LBD and small pumps if you think you might need some formal wear. For example, never be sure you wouldn't end up on classic music concert or opera in Wien.

Look at the example (it's Oslo trip for 3,5 days) - it shows my basic travel choice. I had two sweaters and two pairs or pants. I actually haven't 'killed' pair from the first photo but made my 'necessary extra' work next day + I had extra accessory which I used and extra hat - scarf, shoes, coat, gloves are the same.
By the way, some posts before I showed my newest backpack from Fecbek which is amazing for travels. It's big enough so for a weekend trip for two actually.
I also wanted to share the link about airport rentals in USA from this company which is very useful during trips in there and after all renting in airport saves time - isn't it exactly what we need during short trips?

Tell me your secrets of perfect light travel kit.

Have a nice day,
Lyosha

The gingerbread house

Mixing, remixing and matching. That's what we do so often that don't actually understand. I love feeling comfy and stylish at the same time so I need some remixing with cool comfy pants. That's why I tend to wear same pants so often esp when it goes to everyday life. I'm sorry but I'm not the one who snaps outfits everyday (I'm in Russia which means that I leave home for work when it's still dark and come back when it's dark already) so many out my ideas or layers stay not seen, This is an outfit that made it. Max and I went to get some shopping therapy to local mall. Our small camera was with us so we went to kid's sectore and took some photos. Why not?     I was wearing: Jacket c/o Oasap Glasses c/o Firmoo Pants c/o Motel Rocks Shoes Alba Coat Desigual   Have a nice day, Lyosha

So cold!

Winter sure is a harsh season for any person living in the northern parts of the world. The temperature hits below 0 C, there is a lot of snow and such... It might be tempting to pretend to be a bear and stay at home doing nothing. But you definitely shouldn't do that. Relax, go out and do your best to enjoy the current weather. Or at least make yourself move as fast as possible to move from point A to point B and enjoy your life when you are finally at the place of destination. The key is to get dressed properly. Try more layers or use very warm items. Also thermal underwear (the simplest and cheapest being Heattech from Uniqlo) might help a lot. As for me I mix warmer items, layering and smart materials to achieve the best result. Today I post my little outfit I wore on Friday. Met with my family, did some shopping and went to gym. Overall I was spending a fair amount of time outside so I needed to stay warm. Surely being a blogger I couldn't avoid desire to still look...

The sea

For our vaction we've chosen the country with the sea. Actually  we wanted some rest and expected a verycalm vacation like laying on the beach and swimming the sea all day long. It didn't work out for it's boring for both of us but you caught the main idea. I was very happy to buy this beach dress! it's so sexy and comfy! and what is the most exciting it looks great being oversized! yay for belts, girls! The photos I'm going to show are the shots of two days. the photos where I'm in the dress are from the beach near our hotel and the swim-suit are from the Great Beaches (or Veliki Plyazh). The sand is grey there it's volcanic and said to be healthy. I don't know if it's true but it's fun for sure. We've been acting like kids there, building the sand castles, running and laying on the sand and playing the water (it's not deep at all, I was already tired of walking when the water was berely at my tummy). oh, how I wish we had the extra da...
