Jacqueline City goes to PFW

Last year I made an interview with Jacqueline City and I personally didn't think they will achieve so much in just one year but they did. How cool is that! So today I talked with wonderful Jacqueline City founder about the changes.

Bio: Jacqueline City is a 23 year old fashion designer and owner of Jacqueline City Apparel: A New Approach to Fashion. Jacqueline City is proud to be a disabled girl boss who suffers from heart disease, dysautonomia, and POTS which left her bedridden for some time. Because of her disabilities, she stresses the importance of inclusivity; her brand has options for women, men, unisex, kids and plus sizes. Jacqueline City Apparel made its runway debut just one year after its launch in February 2020 at NYFW as a "New York Fashion Week: Ones to Watch” and is set to show at Paris Fashion Week in the fall of this year.

1 Tell me about NYFW experience:
New York Fashion Week was a dream. In collaboration with Flying Solo, the largest independent designer platform, I had eight couture looks walk the runway at the iconic Pier 59 Studios. The line was called Lovers, inspired by The Lovers tarot card and came out in February in time for Valentines Day. It was my first time attempting couture fashion but I think it went well. NYFW was a very exhausting time. The weeks leading up to the show were filled with seemingly endless hours of sewing and fittings. However, Fashion Week was the most rewarding event I’ve ever done. I am so proud to have shown at NYFW just one year after launching my brand. New York Fashion Week was such a surreal experience I’ll never forget.

2 Show me your ultimate Jacqueline City spring outfit :

My ultimate Jacqueline City outfit this spring would be very quarantine friendly! I think its very possible to be comfy, cute and fashion forward while we are all being safe and staying home. I think a cute cropped top or sports bra like our Duality Lovers Padded Sports Bra along with biker shorts, leggings or sweatpants like our Ancient Lovers Unisex Joggers is perfect! Accessories like our In The Cards Socks and In The Cards Fanny Pack are perfect for walking your dog or the perfect instagram pic! Add a mask for an ideally safe look this spring!

3 Tell me about your plans (here comes Paris) what do you think?
I’m very excited to be showing at Paris Fashion Week this year. The show will be in October at The Ritz in Paris. PFW is a dream I never thought possible. I do not think it will feel real until I’m actually there in Paris. I studied French for three years in hopes I would one day get to study fashion in France; I never thought I would have my own brand or ever have the opportunity to even attend PFW as a spectator nevermind show there. I’m incredibly excited and I can’t wait to showcase all the behind the scenes of the experience on all my social medias (instagram facebook) and JacquelineCity.com!

  3. Jacqueline City is such an inspiration. I like how she hasn't let her disabilities and sickness define her. To be honest, she is far better than some with no disabilities. She's not making excuses, she's turning her lemons to lemonades-- and that's so brave.

Mixing, remixing and matching. That's what we do so often that don't actually understand. I love feeling comfy and stylish at the same time so I need some remixing with cool comfy pants. That's why I tend to wear same pants so often esp when it goes to everyday life. I'm sorry but I'm not the one who snaps outfits everyday (I'm in Russia which means that I leave home for work when it's still dark and come back when it's dark already) so many out my ideas or layers stay not seen, This is an outfit that made it. Max and I went to get some shopping therapy to local mall. Our small camera was with us so we went to kid's sectore and took some photos. Why not?     I was wearing: Jacket c/o Oasap Glasses c/o Firmoo Pants c/o Motel Rocks Shoes Alba Coat Desigual   Have a nice day, Lyosha

So cold!

Winter sure is a harsh season for any person living in the northern parts of the world. The temperature hits below 0 C, there is a lot of snow and such... It might be tempting to pretend to be a bear and stay at home doing nothing. But you definitely shouldn't do that. Relax, go out and do your best to enjoy the current weather. Or at least make yourself move as fast as possible to move from point A to point B and enjoy your life when you are finally at the place of destination. The key is to get dressed properly. Try more layers or use very warm items. Also thermal underwear (the simplest and cheapest being Heattech from Uniqlo) might help a lot. As for me I mix warmer items, layering and smart materials to achieve the best result. Today I post my little outfit I wore on Friday. Met with my family, did some shopping and went to gym. Overall I was spending a fair amount of time outside so I needed to stay warm. Surely being a blogger I couldn't avoid desire to still look...

The sea

For our vaction we've chosen the country with the sea. Actually  we wanted some rest and expected a verycalm vacation like laying on the beach and swimming the sea all day long. It didn't work out for it's boring for both of us but you caught the main idea. I was very happy to buy this beach dress! it's so sexy and comfy! and what is the most exciting it looks great being oversized! yay for belts, girls! The photos I'm going to show are the shots of two days. the photos where I'm in the dress are from the beach near our hotel and the swim-suit are from the Great Beaches (or Veliki Plyazh). The sand is grey there it's volcanic and said to be healthy. I don't know if it's true but it's fun for sure. We've been acting like kids there, building the sand castles, running and laying on the sand and playing the water (it's not deep at all, I was already tired of walking when the water was berely at my tummy). oh, how I wish we had the extra da...
