Travels are all cancelled but we at least have some dear memories! Today I want to make a throwback to awesome summer 2019 while I think where I will spend my evening: bedroom or living room.
I have to admit I have a thing for tiny countries. And I do like adding new places on my travel map. Cycling trips make it even better because you feel your trip with your legs - you are your own transport. When we planned a trip around Bodensee (lake Konstanz) we thought it's an awesome idea to take a little de-tour and visit Liechtenstein as well (yes it is a spelling horror-name, by the way). Did we regret it? Not in a bit! The road is super pleasing and easy so you can easily cycle all the way to the capital no stress or issues, bonus points for most of the way is on the cycling path.
The capital is lovely, the city center is neat and cozy, postal museum is wonderful and I loved the ice cream there. If you have time, take a trip to the ruins (bonus points for picnic there) up to the mountain from the Castle. There is also a water-reservoir 'lake' nearby - it is very beautiful! yes I am no travel blogger but why not! The only disappointment is the tourist app. It works only online but up the hill the connection of Orange wasn't good so we couldn't take most use of the it. Enjoyed it anyway.
My outfit is 100% sporty but that's what you get if you plan on a little hike and unsteady weather,

ReplyDeleteJust gorgeous. You're right, we may not be able to travel right now, but we do have memories. And you are so lucky to live in Europe. There are so many old and beautiful cities that are just within a few hour's drive. The US is so large that you can travel across Europe faster than we can travel just across the US. Thanks for sharing your awesome photos with us.
ReplyDeleteI've been doing the same thing and I've missed a big trip - heartbreaking in so many respects. This looks like a gorgeous trip!
ReplyDeleteWow, how many photos you did! I am so happy you had a wonderful trip last year!

Away From Blue
We are too. these are photos from last year's summer. It is definitely not green like that now (by the way, I find it most fascinating that we have inverted seasons with southern hemisphere).
DeleteI hope you and your boys are having a great week too
I must like this article. This country is one of my favorite place in Europe to visit because of its serene views. Thanks again for bringing me with you on this virtual tour.
ReplyDeleteI love all the natural beauty and greenery. That's the mark of a great hiking spot, if you ask me! Looks like the perfect place to get out and enjoy the fresh air. We're big hikers and it's all about the active wear when you're going out - gotta be comfortable!
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful place like this so perfect and I think is one of my dream to visit someday. Awesome photos!
