Cancun ruins, part 2

Not all of the tourist know it but there are two sets of ruins in Cancun. The second, more remote, less touristy ruins are from fishing village which is considered to be ancient Cancun, the ruins are called El Meco and are located in the northern beach part of the place. While ruins in the tourist area have a great museum, they can't really offer much in ruins department, after all it used to be a very wealthy and big but farm. El Meco ruins is actually a small Mayan village and it preserved quite well. The only downside of it is the size, I think it's hard to enjoy it more than an hour. On the bright side during the seaweed season the cleanest beaches are located close so if you happen to be in Cancun it might be a great idea to plan on a beach day. Also there are mostly locals on the beaches nearby so you will get a different vibe. And marines with yatchs and boats are literally everywhere so you are more than welcome to enjoy these kind of views (I very much did). Also while exploring the ruins we met different tourists and even managed to get a photo of us together! I am always very happy when we have proper photo together.

For the walk I have chosen neutral palette. These shorts are still comfortable and cute to wear so I enjoy wearing them while I can. It is actually nice to feel something about your belly that is not a dress. White shirt is a staple classic and I definitely enjoy wearing it. My new and also beige baseball cap finished up the look (it has "outdoors" written all over it). I am so happy I finally have a baseball cap, it is an absolute must for me to have.

Bonus: Find all the lizards photo:

I was wearing:
Befree shorts
Uniqlo shirt
c/o iGlassesshop glasses
Cuidado con el Perro cap
Fila flipflops

Have a nice day,
Lyosha

  1. I have been to Cancun a few times. On one trip, I visited Chichen- Itza on a tour. The ruins you are talking about look less touristy, more room to roam, which is good! Much of Cancun, as you know, can get quite crowded.

    1. I have a feeling that Cancun is always crowded, at least downtown. I definitely fail to see few people outside at any given moment. I don't mind that at all, it's a part of the charm for me really. I notice it gets less on tourist department as the summer grows near which is fine as well.

    1. I wouldn't call a trip or a travel even anything located in the city of residence. the ruins are about 6 kilometers to the north from my home so it wasn't a big deal. however I was very concerned I would loose mobility and desire to walk during the pregnancy (especially given my back issues after the breakage) but I am absolutely free to walk for as much as I want even at 38 weeks. even if I will start to be too tired to relax, it won't be for that long anyway. I get tired faster during the pregnancy as well but normally I am quite fast to recover. I try to catch the tiredness as fast as possible and just sit for 15-20 minutes somewhere pretty to regain my strength (thankfully I don't need it all that much).
I saw your rainy entertainment, Iooks fun, I love board games.

  10. Ruins are like art in itself. With those burnt or dilapidated structure, you can appreciate the history and culture of the place. BTW, I like the pic with your husband carrying you. So very romantic, so in loved.

Still can't skate

Each year they set up a free artificial ice skating area as part of Christmas village in our city. I have tried it several times before and could never figure it out. But it is fun anyways. There is something in doing something horribly without any shame. I am not trying to excel in it and for some reason it it truly deeply liberating. What do you think? I wore simple and comfy outfit. Cropped top with Nightmare before Christmas print (it is Christmas theme for me, ok), comfortable back cargo pants and sneakers. You can not really top that. I was wearing: Cuidado con el Perro top and pants Converse shoes   Have a nice day, Lyosha

More about hats

How did you welcome a new year? I did it calmly with lots of time dedicated to myself. Man, I needed a nice little break here and there, especially as my little one is home for a school break. I have had a lot of fun but I also managed to dig in some interesting information I really want to share with you. I now live in the hot climate and wear hats only for style but I used to wear hats to keep me warm years back. And you know what I am happy I have a choice. These days I wear a lot of bucket hats and baseball hats and occasionally rock a fedora. Do you fancy some hats? I used to wear wool based hats all the time but I never actually didn't try to alter it. recently I found a great way to alter them and get them to fit you perfectly. I would love to share it with you because I know just how much a good fit changes the whole perspective on a life in the cold. I have discovered three fantastic ways to deal with it: hot water pot, shower and washing machine (only applicable on bucke...

Walk the river

Today I want to tell about vacation of mine. I don't want to start chronologically instead I want to show you the best day ever we spend in Gelendgik area. It was a day full of walking swimming and fun. We went to a special nature area park build around river Zhane. Mountains and absolutely dreamy rocks everywhere with waterfalls and baths. The scenery is so dreamy I just couldn't help it! So let the photo speak for themselves. We actually swam in the river. So refreshing and totally wild. I was so impressed that I felt like sea is only a so-so place for swimming after magic rivers Zhane and Pshada (I'll tell you about it in my next post). I wore my wonderful romper I take with me on most of the trips (it asked for no space and fits perfectly. Flipflops make walking around the rocket harder but if you need to step onto the river all the times it is an optimal choice. Comfy tiny bight blue-green top to finish the outfit alongside with a ca...
